Roofing in Cincinnati
From Hyde Park and Oakley to Westwood, Delhi and Anderson Township, Cincinnati roofs take a beating from spring hail and winter freeze-thaw. Maverick Exteriors is a locally owned, GAF Certified roofer that has worked the Tri-State for 13 years, and we are still here after the storm trucks leave.
A lot of Cincinnati homes were built before 1960. That often means a second layer of shingles hiding the first, or old board decking with gaps between the planks. We tear every roof down to the deck, replace rotted or gapped wood, and build it back to current Ohio Residential Code with ice barrier, drip edge and proper ventilation.

Why older Cincinnati roofs usually need more than a patch
Two layers means tear-off
Ohio code does not allow a new roof over two existing layers. If we find a second layer, it all comes off to the deck.
Solid decking is required
Asphalt shingles need solid, sound sheathing. Gapped plank decking or rotted wood gets fixed before anything goes on top.
Matching matters
When shingles are discontinued or weathered, Ohio rules require a reasonably comparable appearance, not a two-tone patch. Ohio claim rules →

Cincinnati roofing questions
How much does a new roof cost in Cincinnati?
It depends on the size of the roof, how steep it is, how many layers come off and how much decking needs replacing. We give you a written, line-item estimate after a free inspection, and if storm damage is covered you typically pay only your deductible plus any upgrades you choose.
My house is older. Will you find problems under the shingles?
Older Cincinnati homes often have a second layer of shingles or board decking with gaps between the planks. Ohio code requires solid decking under asphalt shingles and does not allow a new roof over two existing layers, so we check both at inspection and tell you before work starts.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in Cincinnati?
Permit rules vary between the City of Cincinnati and the surrounding townships and villages. We confirm what your address requires and handle it as part of the job.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes are torn off and rebuilt in one day, with full cleanup and magnet sweeping before we leave.
